Hoe bewaar je animatiefilms? Welke problemen treden op bij de restauratie van de al bijna archaïsche VHS-videotape? Berichten uit de praktijk: vertoning van prachtige nieuwe restauraties en werk van de Amerikaanse VJ-pionier Peter Rubin, die naam maakte met zijn visuals voor club Mazzo.

How to preserve animated films? What are the problems facing conservators when restoring by now almost archaic VHS video tapes? Professionals in the field shine their light on the subject as we screen superb new restorations, plus work by the American VJ pioneer Peter Rubin, who made a name for himself with his visuals for the Amsterdam club Mazzo.

De robot is onder ons. Over welke nieuwe mogelijkheden beschikt de data-gedreven filmcurator? Verder is Sluizers collectie nu compleet en zijn alle titels duurzaam opgeslagen en gedigitaliseerd, dankzij het initiatief van de erfgenamen van George Sluizer om een dvd-box van zijn oeuvre te maken. Anne van Es, producent en Dutch Film Liaison, gaat in op deze vruchtbare samenwerking.

The robots are among us. What new options are available to the data-driven film curator? Plus news about the films and documentaries by Dutch filmmaker George Sluizer. All titles in the collection have now been sustainably stored and digitized, partly thanks to the initiative of Sluizer’s heirs to release a DVD box of his oeuvre. Anne van Es, producer and film liaison, will discuss this fruitful collaboration.
